Artisanal tabletops handcrafted from reclaimed barn wood, are a popular way to add character and texture to your spaces! This balanced, harmonious blend of raw steel and wood come seamlessly together invoking a sense of warmth, comfort and raw natural beauty. A visually stunning must-have piece!
The round tops have a textured surface due to the natural weathering that occurred before repurposing. I lightly sand the wood, apply four coats of a high-performance food-safe clear-coat to ensure the wood is smooth to the touch and can be easily wiped down, and then the steel band is also clear-coated with a high-performance matte finish before mounting around the top.
Select kiln-dried reclaimed wood is mounted on a plywood base to ensure a stable and flat top. The top is a mix of random pieces, colors, and tones giving each piece a unique look. The 1 ½” wide steel band has a natural patina finish.
WHAT DOES KILN-DRIED MEAN?
The wood has gone through a drying process in which temperature and humidity are controlled to remove excess moisture. Thus allowing the wood to be in optimum shape prior to building the tabletops, allowing for less drying and cracking afterward.
